Cheryl Cole has helped British soldiers in Afghanistan build a bomb - and blow it up - to see first hand the work done by our troops. The singer recently visited the country as part of the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards. She embraced military life while giving out bravery awards after 10 years of British operations in Helmand Province. Dressed in combat gear and carrying explosives Cole helped make the bomb under the sweltering desert sun. The Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards are on ITV1 Wednesday 5th Oct at 8pm.
